Failures on standard hard-disk drives generally fall into two categories:
  • The drive is still mechanically viable but the data has corrupted or disappeared. Often the error message is that the disk is not formatted or has no 'partitions'.
  • The drive is not recognised by the operating system at all and is making disturbing noises or is not spinning and makes no sound whatsoever.

    CD and DVD Media

    CDs and DVDs are not as robust as the manufacturers would have you believe. Normal readers are easily stopped if there are scratches or marks on the surface of the media. Our methods bypass the usual read procedures and can extract data when your own reader refuses to recognise the disk.

    Floppy Disks (FD)

    		If Windows displays a message that your FloppyDisk  'needs to be formatted' then DON'T format the disk unless you want to permanently erase all traces of your data. We can probably recover your data for you even if the system reports that the disk is unreadable. If you have performed a quick format it may still be possible to recover your original files.

    Multi-Media Cards

    Data recovery from SD/MMC/CF Cards (Camera, PDAs, Music Players etc.). These are not generally repairable due to the solid-state internal construction.
    However, even if the card cannot be read by your own hardware we have special readers which bypass the normal systems that manufactures provide. If there is any data present we can probably recover it.

    Memory Sticks (USB drives)

    		These are not generally repairable due to the solid-state internal construction.
    However, even if the drive cannot be read by your own hardware we have special readers which bypass the normal systems that manufactures provide. If there is any data present we can probably recover it.

    RAID Drives (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks)

    		We can recover data from Server and RAID drives.
    IDE, EIDE, SCSI, SATA, PATA, USB, FIREWIRE and FIBRECHANNEL drives are supported. 

    Because of the extra complexity of the data storage on RAID and associated drives, there may be a diagnostic fee charged. This diagnostic fee is applied by most recovery clinics across the industry.

    Typical diagnostic fees range from £95 per drive
    Typical recovery prices range from £495 for modest drives with no mecahnical failure
    up to £4750+ for very large drive arrays with head failure for example.

    MAC Hard-Disk Drives

    		We can recover data regardless of the operating system although non-PC drives are slightly more expensive to rescue.
    Windows, Macintosh (MacOS), Linux (inc. Reiser and FreeBSD), UNIX (inc. Solaris [SunOS]) and Novell operating systems are all supported.
    Typical recovery prices (for a standard MAC drive up to 400Gb) range from £127 - £1385
